Regional developer, Gilbert & Goode, has secured planning consent on its latest wholly affordable site at Respryn Road, Bodmin.

Regional developer, Gilbert & Goode, has secured planning consent on its latest wholly affordable site at Respryn Road, Bodmin. The 2 acre site, previously home to a local bakery firm and DIY Store, will provide 44 well designed new homes for social rent and shared ownership sale; offering a mix of 1, 2 & 3 – bedroom properties.

Bodmin town has seen significant development of its infrastructure, with the investment of Government Funding improving the existing road, cycle and footpath routes in and around the town, as well as a £60m refurbishment of the former Bodmin Jail into a luxury hotel and tourist attraction.

The network of improvements, and boost to the local economy, has added to the towns mounting popularity, and the need for further truly affordable homes for local people. Gilbert & Goode will be developing the site for partners Ocean Housing; creating their latest neighbourhood community.

Development Manager, Craig Rowe said: This is a fantastic opportunity to bring forward a brownfield site in the town close to leisure facilities, schools and employment sites. Work is set to start at Respryn Road this winter, with first homes expected to be ready for occupation and sale from winter 2022.
